Spring Valley Boer Goats

Registered Purebred & Percentage Boer Goats

It's been an exciting year here!  Early in 2016 we had the opportunity to move our main business, our butcher shop, to a larger facility where we now have the capacity to do our own processing as well as our own cutting. The change meant the move of our business, as well as our house. Through the later part of the summer we have been hard at work preparing for the final part of our move....the goat herd. We are building a new barn to house the herd at our new location and are so excited at the updated comforts this new barn will offer (for the goats as well as for us). All the changes have kept us from the showring for the 2016 season, as we are hard at work putting the finishing touches on the barn to get goats moved in before the snow flies. We look forward to welcoming our customers into our new facility in 2017, when we hope to have some really spectacular kids on offer, sired by Du Biquet Conviction, Du Sillon Rockstar VG89 and by our newest addition, US import buck CR Boer's Patriot's Rebel Rising!!!

We are really excited to announce the arrival of CR Boers Patriots Rebel Rising to Canada! This awesome son of the late Show Me Boers RRD Patriot is owned in partnership with Taylor Made Boer Goats. We are thrilled to be able to add his genetics and look forward to his offspring! This buck brings mass, size, breed character, an amazing genetic package and a quiet disposition to the table. He should be a game changer for us. Stay tuned!

We had an amazing showing at the 2015 East National Show at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. We took out some of our best and it was great to see them stand up to some really strong competition. It was also great to have our oldest daughter along for the weekend as she participated in her first Junior Show at the Royal. It was so much fun seeing her out there after a summer of working hard to prepare her doeling. One of the biggest honours of the weekend for us was brining home the herdsman banner for our barn display as we always put a lot of effort into keeping our display tidy as well as promoting the industry to the public.

2015 Share Your Herd Sale

Congratulations to Helle Fisher of Rockfield Boers on her purchase of our choice lot in the 2015 Share Your Herd Sale! Helle has selected Springvalley Being Kaddy, a stout, fancy made yearling doe exposed to Du Biquest Conviction! But it was not an easy choice and as it turns out Being Kaddy will be joined at Rockfield by her older sister Springvalley Kadence, also exposed to Du Biquet Conviction. Thank-you Helle for your continued support of our program and we wish you all the very best with these great females!

2014 East National Show and Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

What a great show it was again at the Royal this year. We were really excited to exhibit the Grand Champion Pen of 3 Market Kids! This was a new class at the Royal this year and helped to display the terminal side of the industry and we were proud to have our pen of Du Sillon Troubador VG87 sired kids be named Champion.

Our breeding stock also performed well. Our main highlight was Pryme Painted Lady being named the Overall Grand Champion and East National Champion Percentage doe for the second consecutive year! This doe is just an amazing female and it is great to see her perform in the show ring as impressively as she performs in the barn at home. Her 2014 born daughter, a triplet now owned and exhibited by Keagan Prins, Springvalley Paint The Town Red was also exhibited at the Royal and was the Junior Champion Percentage Doe. The pair is pictured at left. Great to see the strong genetic package being passed on to the next generation. Our new junior herdsire, Du Biquet Conviction placed second in an impressive class of junior buck kids. Another definite highlight were the strong placings of our replacement doelings, especially Sugarfield Scarlett who stood second in her class, right behind the eventual Overall Grand Champion Purebred female of the show.

Springvalley has an exciting offering in the SHARE YOUR HERD SALE!

Springvalley Boers is proud to be participating in this year's Canadian Meat Goat Association's Share Your Herd Sale, held in St.Anselme Quebec on March 8th 2014 in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting. Our offering, Lot 12, is the choice of any 3 percentage doelings from our winter 2014 kid crop. So far there are 4 beautiful percentage doelings on the ground to choose from, including two doelings from a set of triplets from 2013 East National Champion percentage doe Pryme Painted Lady. There is also a flashy percentage doe kid from Pryme Turn Me On And Turn Me Loose VG86, a Pryme Sinful Pleasures daughter and a really growthy doeling out of Pryme For The Glory, an ACR Tarzan's Yankee Doodle EX daughter. We are still waiting on kiddings from Medicine Creek Dora 2 VG 86 as well as Medicine Creek Ruby, one of our top kid weight producers from our 2013 GHIP results. All kids are sired by Du Sillon Troubador VG87. This will be a nice group of quality doelings out of very maternal and structurally sound does. Herd is CAE tested and GHIP data will be available on these kids as well to help you make your decision. In addition Springvalley will be offering a junior discount if this lot is purchased by a CMGA Junior member. See the link to the catalogue below. Do not hesitate to contact us for further information!

November 2013

Wow! Another great show season has wrapped up. We attended all the Ontario sanctioned shows this fall, including Orono Fair and Markham Fair. It ended on a high for us as we enjoyed a solid showing at the East Nationals, held at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto.

Pryme Painted Lady was again our standout doe. She was the Overall Champion Percentage doe at both Orono and the Royal and was the Reserve Overall Percentage Champ at Markham. Her 2013 doeling, Springvalley Hide Your Crazy was also a part of our show string and was the Reserve Junior Percantage Champion at Orono.

Other highlights included a third place class finish for our purebred doe Sugarfield Young Love and a fourth place finish for our purebred doeling, Pryme Cash Advance at the Royal. Both of these classes were BIG classes with deep competition and to stand near the top of them was definite honour. You can see all our pictures or our entries to the Royal at our Spring Valley Boer Goats facebook page.
